Comment box appears many rows away when trying to edit

Very annoying quirk!! I've created a slew of comments in a spreadsheet, and
when I go to edit them (using right-click on the cell), the comment box
appears 10 or 20 rows away, off the screen in most cases. So I have to
follow the line down to where the comment is, drag it back next to the cell
it belongs to, then I edit it. Any suggestions on how to stop them from
moving? Thanks.

Hope you get an answer, as I have the same problem in EXcel97 PLUS they
collapse into a flat horizontal line. ed

I should also add that they display properly; the problem only arises when I
go to edit the comments. I'm using Excel 2002.
