Text box formatting problem

In PPT 2003 you could copy/duplicate a placeholder and the formatting
(bullets etc.) would be retained in the new text box - and actually work e.g.
promote demote would change the bullet level. Unless I have missed something
it doesn't appear this has been retained in PowerPoint 2007.

Any help/comments would be welcome.

It doesn't seem that you've missed anything ... rats.

I'm hoping somebody will prove us both wrong though.
