Terminate Exabyte 8200 - manufactured for IBM

Hi all,

I´ve got an old Exabyte 8200 SCSI-Tapedrive manufactured for IBM.
I want to disable the termination of the tape drive and terminate with an
external SCSI-Terminator. But the termination-jumpers are not on the
position as shown in the manual by Exabyte. Does anyone know how to disable
termination there?

Kind regards

Markus

Not sure what jumpers you are talking about.
If I recall correctly, the 8200 drive uses 3 terminator resistor packs
which are inserted roughly above the SCSI connector. They are
SIPs (single inline package). So to disable termination, simply
remove those resistor packs.

yeah, that´s right, the documentation from Exabyte tells this...
But there aren´t any SIPs. The SCSI connector is at the top of the board. At
the left of the connector there are three DIP-Switches for ID-Setting and
left from the dip there are some PINs for jumpers (in the following
combination:

PIN 1 3 4
PIN 2 5

So, you see my problem?)
