Terminal Server Temporary Licences

Mike

To anyone who can help.

I have recently setup a new Windows 2000 with Terminal
services loaded . I have purchased 30 Terminal Services
Cal Tokens. To be used with Windows 98/ME machines. The
server is a DC. But when logging on using a Windows 98/ME
clients the Terminal Server Licence program will only
issue a Temporary Licence which I beleve will only last
for 90 days.

Can anyone help??

Regards
Mike

If I am not mistaken...the terminal server issues these by
default...when the client reaches the 90 temporary cycle,
you should begin to see the CAL's kick in. Don't worry
about your clients failing to connect because of this...we
had the same problem and we never had problems with
connections. Migrating to 2000 desktops resolves a lot of
problems since they automatically come with the CAL. Good
luck.

Just to make sure: you have also installed Terminal Services
Licensing Server and installed those 30 TS CALs on the LS, correct?
If that's the case, your clients should receive a permanent TS CAL on
their second connection (clients always get a temporary TS CAL on the
first connection).
Is there anything in the EventLog on the TS?
