Temporary Internet folder in XP Professional

Ken Blake, MVP

I didn't actually switch. I bought a used computer with XP Professional
on it.

In that case, I'll post my standard advice to those who buy used
computers:

If I acquired a used computer, no matter who previously owned it, the
first thing I would do with it would be to reinstall the operating
system cleanly. You have no idea how the computer has been maintained,
what has been installed incorrectly, what is missing, what viruses and
spyware there may be, etc. I wouldn't want to live with somebody
else's mistakes and problems, possibility of kiddy porn, etc., and I
wouldn't recommend that anyone else do so either.

You can't see it when you use Windows Explorer because it is hidden. To
unhide the folder, do the following:

Start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View

Enable "Show hidden files and folders."

Disable "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)." (This is
what you probably didn't do.)

Click OK.

But since it is generally recommended to keep the protected operating
system files hidden and you already know how to see the contents of the
TIF folder by following VanguardLH's directions, what is it exactly you
are hoping to gain?
