Why do I get 5-7000 temp files in internet explorer 6.0 in content IE5
everyday? Is there a way to turn off caching of temp files? I am running XP
Pro SP 2 and IE 6.0 SP1

Probably because IE displays 5-7000 images every day.

You can adjust the size of your cache via IE Tools > Internet Options >
General > Temporary Internet Files > Settings > Disk space to use (try 50MB
or lower).

You can configure IE to delete these files when the browser is closed: IE
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > ...

I have it set to delete on exit but it does not delete !! I also have the
size for temp files set at 10mb but it always goes over the limit. Is there
a way to prevent saving temp files? I also have it set to never check for new
pages.

Does this behavior persist in a new User Account?
