Templates losing settings - Help !!

Guest

I am using templates created in PowerPoint 2003.

I have come across a problem whenever I make changes to my template. I can
make the changes to my template as follows :-

1) Change the page setup width and height.
2) Set the maximum allowed custom font colours to the palette.

This is fine until I come to use the template. If I choose File | New |
From Design Template and then select my template it loses my settings.

Am I doing something wrong here or is it just not possible to include these
changes in a template.

Any help would be appreciated as this is driving me mad.

Thanks

Martyn

Changes must be made in the View > Master > Slide Master mode and then they must
be save to a design template (*.POT). I suspect that you aren't saving your
changes.

Hi Sonia,

Thanks for the quick reply. I was making this mistake initially. I am now
making the changes and saving within Slide Master Mode ....... still no joy !

Thanks

I'm sorry. I should have read more carefully. The page size settings are
specific to a presentation and default to 10" X 7.5". So, if you choose File |
New | > From Design Template and then select your template, it will be 10" X
7.5".

You can go to File > Open > and select Design Templates in the File Type and
begin building your presentation from there. There is danger in doing that
because you might inadvertently do a File > Save and replace your template.

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean by "maximum allowed custom font
colours to the palette".
