Try Disk Cleanup. If that doesn't work, open IE, to to Tools, click the
General tab, click "Delete Files."

1. Control Panel | Internet Options
Click Delete Files.
On the next screen select the option to delete all offline content.
Once it starts go see a movie.

When the hourglass goes away, set the size for Temporary Internet Files to
50 MB.

Thanks for the suggestion but it did not work. I tried to compress the file
but it does not complete, it keeps running. one of the files that it shows it
is compressing is dm1998-12-oly100-t.shn. There seems to be a ton of these
files. When I use search to find where these files are located it does not
turn up anything.
Any more help you can give me I would appreciate.

It looks like you ran Disk Cleanup with "compress old files" enabled, which
is a real XP annoyance with me (I disable mine with a registry hack). I
would try Frank's suggestion to do it from within Internet Explorer if you
haven't already done so. If this doesn't work either, let us know and I'll
give you a few more ideas you can try.

If the suggested solution does not work:move the Temporary Internet Files
folder (after closing Explorer, Outlook & all other applications) as per
Microsoft Knowledge Base article ID 301057 "Temporary Internet Files Use More
Disk Space than Specified".
This deletes all hidden files in the folder, including OLK files produced by
Outlook.
Microsoft - please fix this bug that leaves OLK files 'stuck' in the
Temporary Internet Files folder! Not everybody has the time and expertise to
do the above, and will in time suffer a bloated Temporary Internet Files
folder.
