Telefonica outgoing server SMTP

M

Maurice

I have recently moved to spain and taken telefonica in English broadband.
Trying to get them to understand that I need the outgoing server (SMTP)
details from them to send emails from ta new domain name I have purchased
from namesco is a nightmare - forget the Englishpart of Telefonica - they
don't want to know once you have signed up and paid for the broadband service!
Can anyone let me have this information or tell me where I can get it from
someone that speaks English/?

Go to https://www.telefonicaonline.com/, enter "correo" in the text box next
to "BUSCAR" and click "BUSCAR". Click on the article "Activación y gestión
del correo asociado a su ADSL ". Click on "Instrucciones para configurar
el correo electrónico". That page should have the information you need.

I found smtp.telefonica.net and pop3.telefonica.net in the instructions for
configuring Outlook Express. The smtp server requires authentication using
the same credentials that you give the pop3 server. User name is of the
form usario@telefónica.net. Use the whole address, not just "usario". It
appears that you should have a user name and password that you received as
part of your broadband subscription. To verify that this works click on
"Correo Web" at the top of the page. You should gain access to your
Telefonica web mail there after logging in.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have more questions.
