what is the outgoing email server(smtp) name?

hi i'm trying to send some files by email but because i have a hotmail email
it would not allow it so i set up a window's live email account as
directed,however to complete the process i am being asked what the outgoing
email server(smtp)name is?? i have trawled everywhere but i cannot find what
it is can you please help?

Windows Mail does not support the HTTP Servers of hotmail anymore.

If you want to add Hotmail in an e-mail client you should use Windows Live
Mail (It's not the same as Windows Mail)

A lot of ISPs these days are using just "mail.virgin.net"(example!) for both
incoming and outgoing.
