taskbar location and window size registry keys

I did something so that when IE is open, my XP taskbar disappears and the bar
which is normally at the top of the screen with the file menu, etc. is gone.
Also, when I open a link in a second window, the new window is always only
half the size of the screen. I have tried dragging it to make it bigger, but
the next time it is the smaller size.

Since MS makes it difficult to uninstall IE (so that I could then reinstall
it), I wanted to know what registry keys control the window size and taskbars
so that they could be reset. Thanks.

P.S. (if anyone from MS reads this) This has been a problem for years, and
it is never fixed.

Hi,
You may be in Full Screen mode. Try hitting the F11 key.

About those new (second) windows...
Choose any link on a webpage and right-click> open in a new window. Stretch
that second window out to the desired size- don't use maximize.
Close the first IE window. Then close that resized window.

To always get a true maximized window...
AutoSizer 1.4- http://www.southbaypc.com/AutoSizer/
IE New Window Maximizer http://www.jiisoft.com/iemaximizer/index.htm

Hope this helps,

Although if like me you may find that you need to use Don's own
suggestion to sort out the window size problem...here is what he
suggested to me and it worked a treat

Hi,
Run the REG file at http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFAQ.htm#IEMax Then
retry the
open, stretch, close process. It may help if your first IE window is
always
"normal"- even if it fills the screen- not maximized when you close
it.
