Task Pane Controller

S

Skye

Each time I opened Word the task pane was always there regardless of my
unchecking the appropriate box, it never saved the instruction permanently. I
installed the Task Pane Controller recommended in this forum and now I have
an annoying box coming up every time instead asking if I wish to run the SQL
command. How on earth do I get rid of this add-in?
PLEASE HELP.
Thanks

It turns out that just running the Task Pane Controller add-in once does the
job (modifies the Registry), and you can now remove it, which will solve
your problem.

Thanks for the info but how does one remove it, sadly I'm not that computer
savvy without some guidance.

In the file manager program (called Windows Explorer, My Computer, or Computer
depending on what version of Windows you have), click in the address bar at the
top of the window, paste in the following line, and press Enter:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Word\Startup

In that folder you should see a file named TaskPaneController.dot. Delete it,
and then start Word to verify that the message doesn't appear any more.

IIRC, it's in Word's Startup folder. Just delete it or move it somewhere
else.
