I am running a fully patched win2k SP4 server on a dell poweredge 4400. below
is the info from the task manager:

Image Name PID CPU MEM USAGE
SqL 1012 92 1,736,060k
Scanexe 1384 02 23,616k

Now, at this point users have time out issues with SQL.

What is PID & what does it do as my dba is saying the user time out problem
is from the scan

The PID is (usually) a "Process identifier". In other words, each
process is given a unique number to identify it. This is useful, for
example, when 1 instance of a program, let's say Mozilla, has caused an
error. The name isn't much help since there could be more than one
instance of Mozilla running. but as teh PID is unique, it can direct you
to the exact instance.

Hope that makes sense :)
