Taken Hostage by Netscape

My friend subscribed to some freebees and her home page has been taken
hostage by Netscape. I tried to revert her home page back to MSN but to no
avail. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Not really. I have never had trouble reverting a home page. I do recall
having ICQ take over my home page once. I reverted it easily enough; but
paid attention the next time that I fired up the ICQ messaging client. It
turns out that one of their start up pop up screens offers to switch your
home page.

The main Netsape site does not, that I can see, offer to change your home
page. The probable culprit is one of those "freebie" applications. I would
suggest watching the application through the start up process, and check if
the application is offering a pop up to change the home page. If so, try to
do as I did with the ICQ client, find out if there is a configuration menu
to disable the pop up. The ICQ client does have such a menu. If the
application is legitimate, it will also have such a menu.
