Take too long for computer and personal settings to load

We have a workstation running Window XP Professional and every time user logs
on or restarts the computer, it takes too long, almost 5 minutes, to load the
settings (i.e., computer and personal settings). Do you have any ideas why
it's taking too long? It seems the settings are resetted every time.
BTW, we have a small network with Window 2000 server, Win 98, NT, and XP
workstations.
