tab options word 2007

My tab options under the headings home, insert, page layout keep minimising
and won't stay there - I'm sure I had them there permanently before. Does
anyone know how to get them back

Press Ctrl+F1, or double-click any tab, or right-click the tab area
and click Minimize the Ribbon to uncheck it.
