t45xi Officejet interfere with standby mode

I have a HP 876x and t45xi Officejet. I am not able to put
the PC on standby mode. It will restart the computer right
after it goes into sleep mode. Sometimes it complains
about the t45xi device is preventing it to go into standby.

I have installed the latest CD with t45xi drivers and
Windows Media Center 2004 CD. It did not help at all.

thanks

From what I surmise then is the problem is with the T45xi OfficeJet printer
driver. Was it signed when you installed HP's driver (did you not get a
dialog that stated that the driver was not signed)? If the driver was not
signed, then that means it wasn't tested using Microsoft's test (which
include power management testing).

If you disconnect and remove the OfficeJet and driver from your computer -
all works fine - yes? Have you contacted HP with the problem?

(Sorry for the bad news.)

Thanks for the reply.

The property page of this driver said it is not digitally
signed. I was able to put the PC to standby mode prior to
installing the printer driver.

I was bounced between the HP Printer support and HP Media
Center Support group. I will ask HP for a signed driver.
