Upon Start-Up i have started to receive the message "One of the files
containing the system's registry data had to be recovered by use of a log or
alternate copy. The recovery was successful". Can anybody point me in the
direction of solving this?

Many thanks

If this is a recurring problem then one possible cause is defective
RAM. Download one of the following free memory testing programs and
use it to test the RAM in your computer:
DocMemory http://www.simmtester.com
Windows Memory Diagnostic http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
Memtest86: http://www.memtest86.com

Good luck

Hey Bruce,

I have recently uninstalled Avast anti-virus and Windows Defender anti-spy.
I checked the regedit to see if any remnents of these programs were left and
this is what I found:

AdvertiseFlags - REG_DWORD
Assignments - REG_DWORD
AuthorizedLUApp - REG_DWORD
Cients - REG_MULTI-SZ
InsuranceType - REG_DWORD
Language - REG_DWORD
PackageCode - REG_SZ
Version - REG_DWORD

what do these codes mean and are they harmful?
