%SystemDrive% on desktop

I was called to help a friend with a Windows 2000 SP4 PC.

A new folder on the desktop %SystemDrive% appeared on the desktop.

Woul this be the result of a virus.

Subsequent scans with antivirus software do not detect any viruses.

I had a look at the properties of this folder and it shows 0 bytes.

Has anyone seen this before.

Your help would be appreciated.

Seeing that your problem relates to Windows 2000, the newsgroup
win2000.general would appear to be a good place to post your question.

Where is the Windows 2000 discussion section. Under older versions it does
not appear.
