system32 window opens on sign-in

hey. Out of nowhere, when i sign onto XP, i'm not
suddenly getting a window entitled System32 opening every
time. In the window it says files are hidden and it tells
me not to mess around in there. I have no intent or
desire to mess around with them, since I have no clue
what they're for or why this window is opening. I have
just been X'ing the window closed and proceeding on.
Anyone have an idea why this is happening and what i
should do to stop it?
thanks
