When I my computer starts and I get the desktop, a pop up message tells
me
that "c:\WINDOWS\System32|System32.exe is missing and can't find it
How can I reinstall this file? thanks

Reinstall the virus that originally put the file there...

(No - don't do that. *grin*)

It's NOT needed - it is a virus placed file. Something you did erased the
file, but not the registry entry to load it. Start -> Run -> msconfig and
look at the startup tab..
