System Tray Past Items Removal

I used to know a RegEdit Tweak to REMOVE past icons (not just to " hide when
inactive") in the Customize Notifications area of the Taskbar and Start Menu
Properties Window ... I've done it before on past computers and with various
operating systems but I no longer remember how to. Does anyone have a tweak
or Know a method for me to perform this ? I'm using the Home Version, SP2.

Thank you Wesley, all these methods seem to be viable and I believe at least
one of them should work for me ... if not, like Arnold said, "I'll be back !"

The one that I used was the RegEdit tweak from Support.Microsoft.com (How to
Remove Past Items from the Notification Area) and it did the job for me ...
the other methods and sites were very interesting, as they showed me a
variety of things that could be very handy in the future. Thanks again Mr.
Vogel for your help.
