System Sounds

My computer is eerily silent except for a few dull
clicks. I can play Media music and my sound hardware
tests fine. However, there are no pleasant sounds -
chimes, welcome sounds, etc.

same problem here when i go to listen to some thing on the internet i crnt
hear it but if i play it through my media i can hear things plzz plzz help me
