Problems with sound

When playing music or video the sound is distorted or dull. The system sounds
are dull too. I have a driver that is not digitally signed. I updated to a
digitally signed driver however the problem is still there.

Check you haven't applied an environmental sound effect or equaliser setting
in either media player or sound control panel, if you have one, or both.

Thanks Dobey. I have already checked the environmental sounds setting and it
is not that. I am going to go back to basics and check the headphones and
speakers. If you think of anything else I would appreciate further advice.
