system sounds missing!

Hi all :) ... I think this may need an expert LOL

I'm determined to get this problem fixed on my PC... please can someone
help/assist here... below is a fix from Kelly's Korner:

"System Sounds are missing:

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key: HKEY_USERS. If it doesn't
have a Data entry in the right pane that reads: (value not set), double
click (Default) and delete it. If it does, check your HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21
keys for the same."

ok... maybe it's just me not understanding correctly but I need to make sure
I don't delete something I shouldn't...

The above mentioned HKEY_USERS right pane looks like this on my PC:

Name Type Data
(Default) REG_SZ Drea

NOW, is the fact that "Drea" is under Data the problem and should I delete
this? Drea is an abbreviation of my name and I'm not sure where this entry
comes from.... why it is there, I don't know...

It appears as the same under the HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21 key - the first lot, in
the next one the Data area is empty....

I don't have problems with other sounds i.e. CD's play, Windows Media Player
works.... it is only the system sounds like in MSN Messenger, emptying
recycle bin, start-up and shut down ... Win XP Pro SP2 (since SP2 that I
have this problem BTW)

Please help :)

OK,,,, so I gather I was asking a silly question and the answer was "yes,
delete it!" ... hey, I just wasn't sure, ok?

I did... and yippee.... my sounds are back...

Just thought I'd give feedback for anyone having trouble with the same...
Thanks all! LOL
