system restore

my roomates have managed to mess with my computer! i can not hear anything.
there is absolutely no volume. i can not hear any systems sounds or anything.
i went to sound & audio devices properties - hardware- multimedia audio
controller- REALTEK this device is not configured correctly (code1) i go to
reinstal driver and that's when the whole computer goes crazy.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't know what your roommates did to your computer. Try this: In
Device Manager, uninstall your sound device, then restart your computer.
Windows will recognize the device and install a driver. Cross your
fingers that your roommates didn't do anything else to your computer.

ok i did what u said and got up yo the point that it asks u to insert the
REALTEK AC97 audio driver disk
below that it says
u can also click ok if u want files to be copied from an alternate location,
such as floppy or network server. i don't have any disk for that. so what do
i do?
