System Restore

For a while now I have noticed that when attempting system restore, after the
program reboots, I am told it could not restore to that point - pick another.
This week I tried again and got the same message, so I continued to pick
different restore dates and no matter what date I picked it continued to say
it could not restore to that point. I have NO idea what to do. I have run my
2005 Norton virus checker (its on auto updates and auto check) and have run
adaware and window defender for spyware. All of these say I have no viruses
or spyware. The only spyware I know I have and have my programs ignore is for
my GATOR program (so I do have GAIN) on my DELL computer. Any suggestions? I
haven't yet REALLY NEEDED to use my system restore, but if an emergency came
up, I will be in trouble without it. HELP! Thanks.

Hi Vicki,

The majority of the time this is caused by a corrupt restore point.
Turning System Restore off then on again will purges all existing
restore points, and creates one new one.

Try running System Restore from Safe Mode.
Restart your computer, and then press F8 during the initial startup to
start your computer in Safe Mode.

Log on to your computer with an administrator account or with an account
that has administrator credentials.
In Safe Mode type or paste the following command in the Start - Run box
then press Enter.

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

There are also other possibilities that can cause this to happen. The
