System Restore filter error '0xC000003A' processing '_filelst.cfg'

P

Phil C.

Hi,

My system restore wouldn't restore from earlier restore points or points
with software installs. I reinstalled it using sr.inf, and ran the Kelly's
corner registry fixes.
Now I get
The System Restore filter encountered the unexpected error '0xC000003A'
while processing the file '_filelst.cfg' on the volume 'HarddiskVolume1'. It
has stopped monitoring the volume.

I cannot create a restore point at all now.

Hi Phil,

The system restore point is corrupt and restoration may not be possible. Resetting the System Restore seems to be the only option. You'd also like to know why the System Restore points get corrupt.
