System Restore - broken installation - AiO Software

C

Charles Kenyon

I attempted to install a new HP printer but there was a file missing from
the installation CD. A replacement CD will be mailed to me within the "next
5 to 7 business days." Everytime I start up, I see an attempt to install AiO
Software which requires numerous cancels to break out of.

I went back to a restore point predating this installation but the
installation attempt still kicks in. I also checked the startup folder for
my user and for all users.

Thoughts? TIA

Hi Charles,

Different checkpoints to consider:

1. Under your root directory, delete any autorun.inf's listed.
2. Disable the device if it is listed via the Device Manager and also check
under Hidden Devices.

Update...
The software is HP's All in One software.
I went back two days earlier and that worked.
