Hey Daj,

Go to Start/Control Panel/Security Center/Windows Firewall. Which reminded
me to reactivate mine after a software install!

That site is only for SP2 systems
How do I do it for SP1 system please?

Control panel, Network Connections, Properties, Advanced. Go to help
and support and type in firewall. Help and support is your friend.

I had already tried that but there was no heading Firewall in the help
index?

Really? I have SP2 and it shows up, but I don't remember if it did or
not in SP1. Sorry for my comment if that's the case. Did the other
info I gave you resolve it?

But I gave two suggestions. The first was how to get to the firewall to
make the changes. Did that help: Control panel, Network Connections,
Properties, Advanced?

The second part was an alternative on how to get info on the firewall
settings and where to go to change them.

I am sorry but I seem to be causing a lot of trouble for you and in fact I
have turned on the Firewall.and I was being misled into thinking that a file
which a software supplier said should be allowed through the Firewall was in
fact there all the time.
So I don't have a problem anymore
Sorry
