Hi

Can you specify these missing system files ? Never heard
of this before.

Move restored files before step 5, but if this is systemfiles it sounds
more difficult.

Restoring Quarantined Programs (from MSAS help file)
If you have accidentally quarantined a program, you can remove it from
quarantine and restore it to its original state.

How to restore a quarantined item

1. From the main screen, or any of the screens with the toolbar, click
Spyware Scan (this is the product icon).

2. On the top right of the screen under the Take me to... section,
select Spyware Quarantine.

3. A list of all items in your quarantine is displayed. Select the item
you would like to un-quarantine and when the item appears in the right
details window, select Un-quarantine Threat. This restores the item to
its original state before it was quarantined.

4. To un-quarantine multiple items in the quarantine, select each item
and click Un-quarantine All Checked Threats at the bottom of the
screen.

5. After you un-quarantine an item you should restart your computer to
make sure the restored application runs.

Sounds bad but not unbelievable. Many here seem to forget
that we are talking about "beta" software.

Of course, the simplest method of recovery would be to
restore your system using a System Restore Point (if
you're using WinXP or WinME)

For Win2k the solution is a bit more involved. Visit the
MS Knowledgebase, for detailed instructions on system
file recovery.

Advice:
Before making changes to your system, always create a
backup, restore point or system snapshot just in case
things go awry.

Mike - it's beta software, but this is a public beta. The app is supposed
to be stable, and the risk of data loss very low.

There's not enough information in the thread to know what's actually
happening here. Often this kind of post relates to "firewall dead after
spyware removal" for which there's a simple KB fix.
