System File Checker Question

I originally installed Windows XP SP1 from a CD. Since then, of course, I
have upgraded to SP2.
Is it safe to run SFC from the original CD? It won't "overwrite" any SP2
files?

You'll need to slipstream your original SP1 WinXP disk with the SP2 patch

So you are saying that without slipstreaming, it can be harmful to run SFC
from the original CD.

Just saying it would be a whole lot easier than changing source paths etc.
If you want to use or install the Recovery Console you'll need to have WinXP
SP2 CD. It's really up to you want you want to to.
