system explorers not there in MS Antispyware advanced tools

Today, I installed Microsoft Antispyware beta1.

Everything seems to work except that I have no system
explorers in Advanced Tools. Are they a separate install?

I was also disappointed that this antispyware did not
detect System Spy. The free spyware scan at
http://www.webroot.com/ tells me I'm infected with that. I
was hoping to get rid of it with MS AS.

Check out the details of what the other product is detecting carefully.
Compare it to what other vendors define as involving the same threat. You
may find that you have a false positive, or perhaps a remnant--not
necessarily dangerous by itself.

The missing System Explorers can be caused by mixed versions of the files
constituting the VB6 runtime. You can fix this by downloading an SP for
that runtime:

Thank you Bill.

Your suggestion of installing the vb6 runtime solved the
problem of the missing system explorers. I did not even
have to reinstall MS Antispyware.

Detection of System Spy by the free online scan of Spy
Sweeper seems to be a false positive as you suspected. I
tried the free tryout version of System Doctor and it did
not detect System Spy either; neither did Pest Patrol.
