System event log stopped recording

Hello out there,
I found out (TOO late, that the system event logging has stopped with last
entry dated 1 Nov 2004!!! Application and security logging is OK. System is
XP prof with SP2 and all updates. The system was "repaired" with an "upgrade"
installation which fixed other problems. Log size is set to ovewrite if
maximum. The last event is that the event logging has started.
Does anyone have any idea what to look for??

First try clearing the system log to see if that works. If it does not it
may be corrupt and the KB article below may be of help. --- Steve
