system error when vba code is saved

Hi

I have programmed two modules in vba for an xl 97 app,

For some reason, when I save my code I am confronted by a
number of dialogues reporting..

system error &H8000FFFF (-2147418113) catastrophic failure

which according to winapi is an unexpected failure.

Despite this the code seems to execute correctly. Any
ideas what would be causing such an error?

I should add that by deleting a user form in the app the
problem goes away. I think the form is somewhat redundant
at this stage but I would still like to know why it should
cause such behaviour!
