System error 1909

Ben Bazian

What would cause this error? Never have seen this before. I am trying to
get to a Windows 2000 server that I have always had access to.

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\WINDOWS>net use m: \\mail\d$
System error 85 has occurred.

The local device name is already in use.

C:\WINDOWS>net use n: \\mail\d$
System error 1909 has occurred.

It might help to enable auditing of logon events on \\mail for success and
failure and then reviewing the security logs in Event Viewer to see if
anything is reported there that may give a clue and checking the other logs
for Event Viewer on that computer. --- Steve
