system config

I tried to take some files from the startup tab in msconfig. they were not
anything needed by the system. After unchecking I clicked apply and the
system rebooted. I got this message:
You have used the system configuration utility to make changes to the way
windows starts..
The system configuration utility is currently in diagnostic or selective
mode, causing this message to be displayed and the utility to run every time
windows starts.
Choose the normal startup mode on the general tab to start windows normally
and undo the changes you made using the utility.
How do I do this without it getting undone?
I thank all of you who helps me with this.

when that message appears, there is a little box on it
that says something like "don't show this again"...tick
that and it won't pop up anymore. you're in selective
mode because you don't want certain programs starting up
when the pc boots...it's not a problem, just a little info
window to let you know changes were made...but you made
them, so it's all good. :)
