system clock jumps ahead

Q

QueenV

My system clock, once set to the proper time, will jump
ahead ~7 minutes over the course of 20 minutes. I reset it
several times a day, though if I didn't I'm sure it would
be an hour off by the end of the work day. Anybody who has
a fix (besides Atomic Clock Sync-ing every hour) please
email it to the address provided above.

thanks!

Probably a stupid question, but are you sure you are setting it to the right
time in the first place? Most clocks slow down so it would seem synch is
correcting it.

Otherwise it may be a loose battery connection cutting in and out causing a
flutter.

Good luck,

Ed

Your clock is run from a battery connected to the motherboard.

I'm not sure how we came away from the newsgroup but I no longer have time
log.

Best wishes,

Ed
