SysPrep

If I run SYSPREP (v 5.1.2600.1106 - the one for XP SP1a), choosing "Do not
reset grace period for activation" and "Use mini-setup", click Reseal and
reboot, the mini-setup runs fine ... If I do the SAME EXACT process, then
image the PC with Norton Ghost 2003, when I reboot, the mini-setup always
reboots during the mini-setup right after entering the PCNAME and admin
password ... I've search Google, Microsoft Knowledge Base and Symantec's KB
and have found nothing other than "How To's" or KB articles on specific
error messages ... Ideas ???

Ron,

By chance are you disabling the telephony service before running sysprep?

For security purposes, the telephony service is disabled on all PCs ... Let me guess, I need to enable it :) ???

By the way, the mini-setup when I shut down and immediately reboot does not
ask for a PC Name and admin password ... Why when I reboot, Ghost, then boot
into the mini-setup, would it ask for different information ??? I am not
booting the XP partition during the ghost process, I am booting from a
floppy ...

Well, you had the reason why this is failing ... I guess two questions come
from this:

1> Why is the Telephony Service needed during Setup ???

2> Why is the mini-setup different after Sysprep when the Telephony Service
is disabled (the primary difference being it asks for a PC Name and admin
password) ???

Apparently, Ghosting it has nothing to do with the problem ...
