XP SP3 Sysprep Question

I'm using sysprep -reseal -mini in XP SP3 to prepare a master PC image. When
I reboot after running sysprep, some of my settings have been changed. For
example: after sysprep, there is a Windows Media Player icon on the local
admin desktop.

Why is that and how do I prevent sysprep from changing my profiles?

Thanks.

Another thing I'd like to prevent is the addition of entries in the
"frequently used" area of the Start menu.

I don't have a windows XP box in front of me but the way I handle this is to use a combination of local group policies and removing unwanted shortcuts from the Default user profile.

To launch the local group policy edit go to Start\Run and type GPEDIT.msc. If you poke around you will find a Start Menu set of policies.
