I just received this from a colleague:
_____________________
I just did a Win XP System Restore to a system. I restored back to a few
days ago. I found that the restore deleted some of my files (2 batch files
and a .reg file) that were stored on another drive volume. This is not
supposed to happen! The files were not in My Documents or anything like that
(simply in the root of Drive D). It was suggested that I undo the restore
which then brought back the files that had been deleted.
_____________________
Does system restore normally search out and destroy .bat files and .reg
files? What's going on here?
BTW...we're testing a system, not working with an actual production
machine...this system has no malware or anything like that.
