SyncToy 2 Moving Files Bug

I'm using SyncToy 2 beta on Vista Ultimate to sync up music and pictures
on my main PC to a variety of devices. I notice that if move files at
the source to another folder after syncing and then do another 'Echo'
operation, new files are created in the folder I moved the files to at
the destination, but the same files are also left behind in the original
folder, so I end up with 2 copies of the files at the destination.

I've read some notes by one of the SyncToy authors explicitly explaining how
SyncToy is so good at eliminating the scenario you describe, so I'd really
like to understand how far the Check Files flag goes toward eliminating
dupes. I know I have lots of dupes among a few systems and I'm hoping SC2
will help to eliminate them all the in a given environment as it indexes the
files and mirrors them across environments.

I guess the real question is, can we somehow sort source or target
repositories by the unique hash to de-dupe files?

Thanks!

I'm pretty new to SToy, but so far it does what I want to do better than
about 8 other Sync programs I've trialled :)

Anyway, i digress. I use the "contribute" setting, and if I move
files/folders around on the "source", and then I do a sync, the files are
moved accordingly at the "destination".

However, sometimes there seems to be some empty subdirectories left behind,
which means the main folder/directory stays behind too. But in essense
they're empty folders.

A bit of a pain, which I'm hoping to use another program that can delete
empty folders. But because Stoy does everythign else as I want it, (as
compared ot other progs), I'm happy.

For now :)

Try turning on the view for Hidden files. The "empty" folders may
contain the synctoy_zzz files which are used by SyncToy to do its
thing.
