Synchronizing My laptop

I've changed my computer name and workgroup name for some reasons that needed
to be done. I synchronize my folders using WinXP Pro (obviously) and yet I
cannot get rid of the "old" offline folders. In other words, XP continues to
try to synch with the old name and folders. When I saw the problem, I tried
changing back to the old name, and it kept the new name. In other words,
once I tell my computer (and this happened on my old Win2K machine also) I
can't get rid of the other name and the fact that it keeps signalling me
telling me that I need to synch the folders - when in reality I don't.

I've tried to delete all the files, I've searched the registry for the
names, and deleted there, and I've done all kinds of things, but I can't get
rid of the old name where Windows tries to synch a system that is not
there....

Any ideas

Thanks, but no, those don't help. What I'm trying to do is to delete the
link to a file folder that is no longer there. IN other words, the offline
synch program keeps the data there when it is not longer there. For example:
my computer wants to synch with files on "\\Rogeroffice2\My Documents" that
folder does not even exist anymore. And I can uncheck all the boxes I need
to, and it's still there, and occasionally it still tries to synch with this
folder that doesn't exist, but I can't delete out of the synchronization area.
