Synchronising Mp3 player to Windows Media Player 10

Im running XP SP2 and are trying to synchronise an I River H 340 to Windows
Media Player 10 to save my MP3 's to the device. Every time i hit the ' Start
Sync ' button, i get a message saying Windows Media Player no longer detects
a connected portable device. I've tried reconnecting the I River to the PC,
the drive shows up under the hard disc drives of ' MY Computer ' but i just
can't get media Player to recognise it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

Don't bother to sync, for quite often there is a conflict. Use Windows
Explorer
and just "copy&paste" the songs/MP3s to the player.

The Iriver H-Series does not synchronise via WMP 10 at all (at least with
current firmware).
The IRivers work with Tag DB Synchronisation, a good Software is Irivium
(Google).

Have you tried experimenting with the Briefcase function in Windows?
