Switching A7V to K8V procedure suggestions?

I only wish to change the MB, CPU & memory. I'm keeping all drives, video,
sound, modem cards intact.

Running WinXP PRO.

My question is what is the best way to replace the MB and retain all my
applications, settings, etc?

I'm just looking for the faster processor speed and want to minimize the
reinstalling and configuring of all my applications as I have tons of apps
with on the fly upgrades and many tweaks to get everything running
flawlessly as it does now.

My concern is that even running the XP repair routine will change settings
and HW drivers.

So what are the chances of just popping in the K8V for the A7V, reboot a few
times for Win XP to find the new MB, and have everything work OK?

I do not agree.
The CD that will come with your new motherboard
will contain necessary drivers for onboard devices.
You will be asked to insert it in your cd drive.
