SUS and SP2

In spite of documentation, my experience tells me that SP2 updates from SUS
are NOTsilently installed and require logging on with administrator
privileges. Did I miss something? After approving the update and expecting
it to be installed overnight as all other SUS updates have done, my users
came in to "Do you want to install...?" in the morning. As most of them do
not have admin rights, the update failed.
Was this supposed to happen?

From what I understand there was an issue that has since been
corrected.
Sync the SUS server should resolve the issue I am told.

Thanks! I hadn't heard of anyone else with this problem and wondered if I
had done something wrong.

This is not an issue with Windows Help, and it is not an issue with Windows
XP SP2, per say -- You are more likely to receive a knowledgeable response
in an appropriated newsgroup.

Issues with rolling out XP2 in a corporate Active Directory environment have
been the subject of discussion and announcements for over a week in the
Active Directory and Group Policy newsgroups. MS has released several white
papers on a website titled " Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) for IT
Professionals ", which is located here:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;ln;windowsxpsp2it

where you will find, for instance, "Windows XP Service Pack 2 Deployment
Tools", and other tidbits, such as: Step-by-Step Instructions & How To
Articles
How to install Windows XP SP2 by using Systems Management Server
This article describes how to use Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS)
2.0 or SMS 2003 to distribute SP2 from a shared distribution folder on a
network.

That will probably resolve it, but if not you should take this to the
SUS newsgroup:
