Running XPpro on Dell Insp 8600, 1.5GHZ, 1GB, 40GB laptop. And for reasons
that I don't understand, in the last week or so whenever I now start up
Office, as soon as Office is running, or when I create a new email, Windows
starts up a an auto install window that says it's installing "microsoft
office small business edition" and it goes off to look for a source of the
app - cdrom, C drive etc. Of course its not on there as I use Micirosoft
Office 2003 (what I believe to be a full version) and its already installed.
After cancelling this auto install activity about 7-8 times it stops with a
final message saying I should alternatively "find the installation package
'STDP11N.MSI' in a folder from which you can install the product Microsoft
Office Small Business Edition 2003".
This problem is driving me nuts, as I send a lot of emails. It appears that
something in Windows is broken or screwed up, and I haven't the foggiest how
to fix it and would appreciate some help and suggestions on what could be
done to resolve this.
Thanks!
Russell.
