stuck in safe mode

my computer is stuck in sfe mode. I have tried restarting it many times and
that has not worked. I have tried adjusting the display settings but they
remain stuck at 600 X 480 at 4 bit color. I've tried searching the help and
support on my computer but to no avail. My computer says my motherboard is
fine, but my friend believes that my BIOS could be dying. Could anyone tell
me how to fix my computer?

You could try doing a repair install.

First, is it really in Safe Mode, or is the display looking like the Safe Mode.
If you are in the Safe Mode, it will say "Safe Mode" on the screen.
The options we give you depend on your answer.
