Stuborn Uninstall

I have from time to time have programs that will not uninstall for some
reason. I go through XP Pro's "Add/Remove" feature and even tried 3rd party
software like "AShampoo Uninstaller" to no avail. Currently I am having a
hard time with a game that I no longer use and would like removed. I know I
can manually delete the folder and search for occurrences in the registry,
but I am sure that wouldn't be complete as there will still be some things.

So my questions is, what do some of you do when you run into problems like
this? Is there a far superior 3rd party program that does an excellent job
every time? Thanks and look forward to your responses.
