Strange symbol opening IE6

When I start IE6 sometimes I get the following on my
screen: 1>. I then have to click on "homepage" to get to
MSN homepage. What is causing this error and how do I fix
it? Thanks.

Badly written parasites, other just see m/>


This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware, parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
